With Mother’s Day just around the corner, there are always those stragglers like myself who are still pondering what exactly to buy the most important woman in their life (I’m not trying to win you over after admitting that I’ve still not bought you anything Mum, I swear!).
| The truth is, with our schedules being as busy as they are it is easy to side-track into the usual last-minute purchase of some flowers, some chocolates or simply to give a card. Now, all of those are fine of course, but if you’re anything like the people who raised you (and I know that I am very similar to mine), you must remember that they also had lives before you came along and managed to continue to keep a house going whilst also ensuring you were fed and grew into who you are now. That takes some willpower and must have been exhausting… so I think its only right that Mother’s Day is one of those days that you use to pull a little luxury out of the bag; to give the gift of self-care. Self-care can mean a lot of different things for different people. For me, it usually means a hot bubble bath with some relaxing music, a glass (or three) or red wine, some crisps with humous and a binge watch of Will and Grace in a fresh tracksuit.
