The Little Princess Trust is an extraordinary charity which provides real hair wigs to children suffering hair loss due to cancer treatment. The Little Princess Trust supply and fund the best wigs available, worldwide.

Trendco are thrilled to be supporting and working along side The Little Princess Trust by accepting people's kind hair donations and sending it to the factory in China, where the hair is transformed into a wig for a child in need. Once the factory has made the wig and returned it, the child can have it styled personally by a Trendco stylist, all free of charge.

Hereford charity, the Little Princess Trust receives The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service (the MBE for volunteer groups) in Her Majesty's Diamond Jubilee year.

The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service, (the highest Award given to volunteer groups) which is made annually, recognises and rewards excellence in voluntary activities carried out by groups in the community. The Award is given every year in recognition of outstanding achievement by groups who volunteer their own time to enhance and improve the quality of life and opportunity for individuals or other groups in the community.

The Little Princess Trust, a charity providing real-hair wigs to children that have lost their own hair through cancer treatment, is delighted and honoured to receive this most prestigious Award. The charity, which was started in 2006 in memory of Hereford Cathedral Junior School pupil Hannah Tarplee, has given away over 1,100 wigs to date.

"This award is fantastic news as it recognises the enormous contribution which our many volunteers have made to the growth and success of the charity. We have been delighted to see the number of children that we are able to help continue to grow but there is no doubt that we could not achieve this without our many supporters who give up their time so generously," Tim Wheeler, Chair of Trustees.

"When we first set up this charity we could never have imagined how many children we would end up being able to help and how well it would be supported. It has surpassed all of our expectations and it really does show how great the need is for the Trust to provide this service to children. I feel so proud to be part of this charity and I am so proud of all of our volunteers. I only wish that my daughter, Hannah, was here to witness this Award to the Trust set up in her memory. This Award means so much to me and everyone involved with the charity," Wendy Tarplee-Morris, co-founder and Trustee.
