"hello, my little girl has hypotrichosis so will never have hair on her scalp. i got a custom made european human hair wig here in ireland and it was brilliant but the second one was a total disastor as the hair was dry and frizzy. i have been told that european hair is no longer good quality as its been used up on hair extensions. i really want to get her a high quality custom made human hair wig that clings to her head and stays on and that has soft hair. can you give me some advice? i like the look of the saphire wig but am wondering what the base is like? i am looking for a dermalite or supplex type base for her. she is only 5 years old.i will be getting her a new wig every year so i want to get it right this time. thanks caroline wexford ireland"

Dear Caroline, the European hair is the best hair and we haven't had many problems occuring. It is true that the extension market has been making using up a lot of the hair but this has not necessarily had an adverse affect on its quality. We will always have peices that are not as "good" as the 1st. This happens in the fibre hair department too. I am really sorry that you have had this problem on a custom made peice. How old is the peice now? The Sapphire is a lovley wig and has been designed for children at 48-50cm cap size, but may be too large for your daughter. You can still try this as the cap is lace front and has been designed to be able to put the hair into a loose ponytail. There is a company called Roaches in Ireland, they do custom mades if that helps. regards Sarah

Hi there. Firstly you need to protect the box in transit, so please return, if you can in the cardboard box (the brown one) it came in. Then return recorded delivery via the post office to, Trendco, Sheridan House, 112-114 Western Road, Hove, East Sussex, BN3 1DD. I hope this helps you, Sarah.

"I have just bought an amber wig and have a question about styling. What products can I use for styling of this wig, especially when dry? I want something that makes the hair more sleek and able to give it a little shape, but am not sure what to use. Would I be better to only use a product after washing, whilst it is drying, to style it then? "

Hi, with human hair wigs you can use a lot more products compared to having a fibre wig. You can use any good quality moisturising shampoo and conditioner and any product that provides moisture is best. When it comes down to when best to use these, it does not really matter, but we have found that intense conditioners that you can leave in for 5-10 mins and wach out again are good. Paul Mitchell, GHD and most salon wet products are really good for human hair.

"What discounts are available if you wear a wig due to a medical condition? Is it only VAT?"

Hi, yes it is the 15% discount for medical wearers that we offer. This has been available for many years and it only needs a form filled in and returned. Thanks, Sarah

"I am unclear about the different types of custom made wigs as it describes 3 different types. How much does it cost? I stay in Dundee and did see in a reply to another question that there was a hairdresser that supplied these wigs but I dont think that salon is there anymore.How long do these last?"

Hi, yes there are different types. 1)Dermalite full custom made - a template is taken of your head shape and size, you choose everything, type of hair, density, curl etc. From £1200 2)Custom express, semi custom made - you have a choice for 4 cap sizes, 3 hair lengths and 21 shades. From £475-£625. 3) Supplex, 2 choices of size, 13 colour shades, stock item £590. 4)Cyberhair full custom made - these are one of the advanced products that is avaliable. Fibre hair that reacts better than human hair and lasts longer. From £2000 but a quote can be given if you come for a consultation. I hope this helps you, sarah.

"i have ordered monofilment topper human hair can i colour it and use straighteners"

Hi, you can use straighteners on all human hair pieces but you must take extra care if you have a light blonde piece that the temperature does not exceed 180 degrees. When straightening please take extra care around the monofilament area and ensure you use heat protection products as with growing hair. The human hair pieces can also be coloured but only to take them darker as they are already heavily processed and so to lighten them will damage the hair. Also, to achieve the best results ensure you use a good quality product and watch the processing very carefully as the colour will take very fast. "Do you have any other childrens wigs, apart from the one on your website? How much is the wig that you do?"

Hi, the Sapphire is £380. If the wearer is wearing it for medical reasons then they are entitled to get the VAT off which just needs a form to be filled out which we can send to you. There is also another wig called Jet which is not on the website yet. The difference between the 2 wigs is the colour range and length and price. "What does petite mean as regards supplex human hair wigs . If it relates to head size then what is measured?"

Hi, yes petite does mean head size. This is the measurement taken around the circumference of your head, the hair line is a good guide. Petite is usually approx 52cm. Some ultra petite styles are 50cm. The Regular Supplex is 54cm, the Petite Supplex is 52cm, these are approximate sizes. I hope this helps, Sarah

"I completed chemo February 2007. My hair has grown very slowly and is very fine and fragile. I have it cut 5-6 weekly to try to improve condition but it lacks volume and is still very thin on top and at crown. I do not want to continue with my wig but would consider a hair piece if this would work. Alternatively, do you think the sprays and creams mentioned would be of help to me? Please what would you suggest, I don't think my hair would take a colour so matching a hair piece may be difficult. "

Hi, I think a visit to our Brighton salon would be a good idea, but if you live too far away we will do our best. The creams and sprays are good but, without seeing you it is hard to know if it would be the best for you. "Hi i have a rene of paris wig shannon, which is great got it in march 08, following chemo. It has started to fo a little frizzy at the back ,not sleek any more. I have looked after it correctly. I have bought another shannon wig but it looks thinner than the first and not so good. how long should a wig last for? Sarah"

Hi there, each wig that you buy will vary in density to some extent. Usually a synthetic wig will last approx. 4-6 months. But saying that we advise clients to buy at least two wigs a year, if not 3-4. The area of the wig that starts to look worn, is the area that rubs against the back, neck and collar. Front sections can go too from cooking over hot stoves etc. I hope that puts your mind at ease. Regards Sarah

"I bought a human hair wig and have had it for 12 months but only just started wearing it. I've just washed it for the first time and it looked greasy so I washed it again and again. It looks greasy and sticks together. It's not the products I'm using (I don't think) as I'm using them on other wigs. It's like there's a product still in even though I've rinsed it properly. "I am looking to match a clients hair colour, unfortunaly I cannot locate your colour swatches to purchase on the site, the colour is ICC base 6 with highlights base 12."

Hi, were not sure what ICC is as we don't use colours as much as you would do. We think Light Choc will be close, but there are an awful lot of colours to choose from in the synthetic wigs and different colours again from the human hair, please click on colour charts at the top of the page and choose a collection on the left hand pane, this should give you some idea. Hi, well if its Human hair you want it would be the Amber or Diamond from the Gem collection. For colours, go to the colour chart link at the top of the page and then choose the Gem/Supplex button on the left hand side and all the colours you see will be for the Gem. But please don't rule out fibre wigs, they are not like they use to be 30 years ago. The choice of colours is fantastic and they look very natural. They are not as heavy either! Thanks Sarah

"The top part of my head has hair which has gone quite thin. I have naturally dark blonde long hair. Can you do anything for this? I would prefer not to have a full wig as I just want the top part to be a little thicker"

Hi there, there are a couple of options available, the first is a top piece. You can have fibre or human hair and once the colour is matched, they look brilliant. The second is Couvré cream. This is a foundation type cream that gives the appearance of more hair, it does this by making your scalp look more matt than shiny. The third is a spray called Mane. This is applied more to the hair and acts as a hair thickner. Please call 01273 774977 and ask for a brochure pack. I hope this helps.

Hi, do you mean lace front wigs? Yes we do. There are a couple of collection that are lace front including Sentoo (pictures coming soon)and Gem Human hair. Where abouts do you live? "Hello, I visited your Manchester branch yesterday called Hudsons and they have put me onto yourselves. Many of my clients unfortunately have Alopecia and buy wigs from yourselves. They also have semi permanent makeup for natural looking eyebrows and eyeliner to give their confidence a boost in this very difficult time they are having. Several of my customers have suggested I contact yourselves to see if I could be registered with yourselves or have a mention on your site for future customers of yours as they have been very pleased with the results and the 'boost' it has given them. "I have been waering the Sasha wig from the Amore Range in my own Hair colour of "Dark Rust" for the past 4 years. I have alopecia and have very little hair at all. My supplier gave me the devastating news that my lovely colour of "Dark Rust" is dis-continued in the Sasha style and I am most upset. Can you please tell me where I can get this wig "Sasha" in the colour that I like of "dark Rust"? Surely you can get this wig in this colour from your own supplier for me to buy? I would be willing to buy 3 or 4 in my order? Please let me know. I am in Dublin in Ireland and I cannot find any other wig in my colour that I like. I have tried very hard and failed. Hi there, Yes we can find a way of getting hold of this wig! We would order it direct from our suppliers but it would be a special order, non returnable and would take approx 8-10 weeks, as it will be made for you especially. We have many clients do this as they love the wig their in and get used to it and suddenly it gets discontinued. "My natural hair is fragile, but if I stop using dark hair dyes (a mistake, for me) I look like a zebra, as my natural colour is now nearly white with age. I'd like to have it all cut off, and use a wig while it grows out (so I can get back to just an ash blonde tint perhaps. I want a shortish style, and the most natural looking synthetic wig I can get that'll stay put during hectic nursing shifts. Whats your product recommendation?"

Hello. I think you would do well in either a Hi-fashion or Noriko collection wig. The problem is, there are lots to choose from approx 55-65 infact!! You can order a brochure and mail order a wig and then return if you don't like it or come in to one of our salons. Please call us for more information.

"I have alopecia and am almost bald. Ilike doing alot of sport but want something natural. What would you recommend."

"Why do over half of chemotherapy patients still wear scarves/turbans or hats even though they have been given a wig? Because the wigs are too big and get shoved in a drawer. I have been told you don't care about this and that's why you don't offer smaller sizes - do you care or not?"

"Can I dye my Synthetic wig with Dylon?"

Hi, it is not recommended that you colour any synthetic wig. It will not cover properly with Dylon and will not achieve the desired look. This is one reason why clients choose human hair, so that they can change the colour. Kind regards Sarah.

Hi there, this depends on what collection you are looking at. We cannot supply Rene of Paris wigs to NYC. This is because a company, (with the same name), are the suppliers for the US market. They supply us with all the Amore, Noriko and Hi-Fashion wigs. If you are looking at the Human Hair or other collections, then this will not be a problem. Hi, the Shasta is a machine made wig. It is made in the same factory as the monofilament wigs and the quality is not affected, it is just that the cap is made differently. Hi, the ROP Bianca wig is 100% fibre. The Hi-Fashion range is synthetic only. The human hair wigs that are stock items are the Gem collection in the Alternative Hair Collection brochure and a few 'Hairpieces' in the Amore range. Hi, wigs should be washed regularly to maintain their appearance, the length of time in between washes depend on whether the wig is fibre or human hair. Fibre wigs do not need to be washed as frequently as human hair, we reccommend at least once every ten days for fibre and once every week for human hair. If we can provide any further information please let us know.

"I have been using couvre cream for many years but now the grey hairs are starting to come through. Is it safe to dye my hair in conjuction with thw couvre cream please?"

It is perfectly fine to use both. But, we would advise that you colour your hair then leave it for 3-4 days before using the Couvre, just to make sure any sensitivity is banished and you should then be able to use it as normal. Thank you for your question.

"Am i able to sleep in my wig?"

Hi there, you are able to but we do NOT advise that you do. You will be severely shortening down the life span of your wig and it may be best to wear an old one for bed and a new one for the day. I hope this helps.

"Hello, I am currently going through chemotherapy and i am needing a wig. Is Human hair better than fibre hair?"

Hi, it totally depends on the person and how much time they want to spend on aftercare. Human hair will react the same as your own would so once washed you will need to blow dry or straighten the wig back to the style you wish. Fibre will just need to squeeze any excess water out with a towel and allow to dry naturally. This is one of the reasons we suggest owning at least 2 wigs as one can be worn while one is being washed. Please call us for a more thorough conversation.

Hi there, the Roloc collection has been especially designed with the most lightweight density out of all of the other ranges. The fibre is silky soft and they are very comfortable to wear. They only come in gradient tones shown. Please try, you can always return if you wish. Thank you.

Hi, yes the curls have been designed to 'bounce back' after washing. But they may not look as 'perfect' as they were before you first wash it. We advise not to use hot water. You need to soak it in luke warm water with a little shampoo. You need to read the full fibre aftercare instructions to get the best results.
